Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh

Images from Edinburgh’s incredible Scottish Parliament building taken in changing spring and autumn weather. Great to look closely at Enric Miralle’s remarkable contribution to the city on a few visits to the building. These views present only initial details that intrigue me – the building offering up so many angles, perspectives and facades.

Despite dividing opinion and sparking debate on how such an important symbol of democracy, future, and national identity should be configured, the building nearly 20 years on, still appears strikingly contemporary and unique, yet the breakdown of the building into landscape – enables it to be experienced as firmly rooted and entwined into the life of the city. It’s a great building to photograph and look forward to my next visit!
