Elder Park Library

Glasgow Life

Really enjoyed working on this set of images for Glasgow Life as their refurbishment of this wonderful asset for the community neared completion. Glasgow Life with conservation architects ZM Architecture have given the building a new lease of life, upgrading the internal environment with improved community facilities, ventilation and energy efficiency measures, whilst externally the building has had stonework and roof repairs.

The buildings location is fantastic – situated at the corner of Elder Park and fronting the tenement lined streets of Govan. Isabella Elder a philanthropist, in supporting the welfare and education of the area gifted the park and library to Govan. Originally designed by architect JJ Burnet and opened in 1903, its refurbishment continues its role at the centre of the community; a great space for Govan and great to capture people enjoying the building in use.
